The purpose of this course is to better equip you in your professional activities as an Insurance Agent or Insurance Adjuster.

The purpose of this course is to provide you with the tools to better inform your customers about Health Insurance Portability and Accountability. In the first Module we are going to discuss a brief History and Overview of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability. In the second Module we are going to look into Titles I, II, and III. In Module Three we discuss HIPAA Titles IV and V. The course concludes with Module Four a review of the “Working-Definitions” of Health Insurance Portability and Accounting Act as well as health coverage in general. This course also includes an Appendix on HIPAA Security concepts. Please note that many of the concepts in the Appendix are “advanced”. You should review this material but you will not be tested on it. 

This course makes a few assumptions about you the student:

  • You are a currently licensed Florida Insurance Agent.
  • You are interested in additional information, resources, and knowledge regarding the inner workings of HIPAA and health insurance in general.

What should you know about HIPAA so that you can be a more effective insurance agent? It’s essential to understand a little background information and terminology about HIPAA and health insurance. We have a little more housekeeping to discuss and then we will start this course on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
