Reservation of Rights Legal Brief

The purpose of this course is to better equip you in your professional activities as an Insurance Agent or Insurance Adjuster.

In this course your will review Reservation of Rights. Insurers use a reservation of rights letter because, in many claim situations, the insurer has a few unsubstantiated allegations and, at best, a few confirmed facts at the time of the claim's inception thereby the need to reserve the right to deny coverage in the future. In some instances, insurers write the reservation of rights letters to cover policies not addressed in the letter so that the insurer has as extra protection against liability. You will study when a ROR should be written, how to write a ROR, where to send it, and an Insurer’s duties under a Reservation of Rights letter. This course also reviews some interesting selected case analysis.
