The purpose of this course is to better equip you in your professional activities as an Insurance Agent or Insurance Adjuster.

This course reviews the Law of Arson. Arson is the criminal act of burning or charring property on purpose. You will study the act of arson and case studies which include such acts as setting fire to a property maliciously, or burning a property with the intent to collect insurance money. You will also study the four key elements of arson: (1) the malicious, (2) burning, (3) of property, (4) belonging to another. We will investigate the common degrees of arson: first degree arson, second degree arson, and third degree and how and why they are categorized. This course also reviews the “Federal” nature of arson including several interesting case studies.

This course makes a few assumptions about you the student:

  • You are a currently licensed Insurance Agent or Adjuster.
  • You are interested in additional information, resources, and knowledge regarding insurance and the legal environment of business in general.
