The Law of Damages

The purpose of this course is to better equip you in your professional activities as an Insurance Agent or Insurance Adjuster.

This course reviews the Law of Damages. Damages refers to money paid by one side to the other; as a legal remedy. It is important for the student to be aware of the types of damages available in law and the circumstances upon which such damages might be awarded. In this course the student will study the six types of damages: compensatory, incidental, consequential, nominal, liquidated, and (sometimes) punitive. This course has an overarching focus on compensatory damages (general and special damages); as well as punitive damages. The course has numerous interesting and on-point case studies as underpinning of the legal doctrines studied.

This course makes a few assumptions about you the student:
