The Sharing Economy Explained Self-Directed Study Course

The purpose of this course is to enlighten the student on technology; cultural and societal changes; and yes perhaps even “fads” that affect the world at large and the insurance industry in particular. Towards that end we focus on “The Sharing Economy” in this continuing education course. In the course we first discuss a brief Overview of The Sharing Economy. Secondly, we review various sharing economy business models. In the third section we discuss the advantages that the sharing economy brings with it.

What is a Self-Directed Study Course? With Self-Directed study you will study the course content at your pace (with no unit quizzes), and then you will take a non-proctored, open-book Final Exam. Simple as that. You can take the Final Exam as many times as you need to pass the course.

This course makes a few assumptions about you the student:

• • You are currently licensed Agent, Adjuster, or Customer Representative.
  • You are interested in the broader environment affecting insurance (e.g. law, economy, climate….).
